Can You Avoid Pre-eclampsia?

Can You Avoid Pre-eclampsia?

I would like to share to you a personal experience about pre-eclampsia. You got it right. I had it when I was pregnant with my 2 kids. I was only 24 years old when I had my first baby. I am a nurse so I attended regular check-ups and I made sure that I only eat the right foods. So how come I had a pre-eclampsia?

My blood pressure was 110/70 from my first trimester to my second trimester. Well, this may sound so peculiar because signs of pre-eclampsia usually occur at the second trimester. But you see, there would always be unique cases of this kind as long as the women give birth to unique kids. But how you know that you are having it? Here are some symptoms that would help you detect it.

Severe headaches. I recalled that I thought I had a migraine. I would always buy paracetamol to relieve the pain. Only upon checking with my doctor did I realize that it was because of my pre-eclampsia.

Blurring or flashing before your eyes. Imagine that you just came out of the room and you met the glaring rays of the sun. that’s exactly what I felt the first time the symptom manifested. I would wear sun glasses to protect my eyes. I even wanted to consult an optometrist so that I could buy eye glasses. Since I was still in the law school that time I thought I was just so stressed in reading lots of books that I needed to have my eyes checked.

Severe pain below your ribs. That was the time that I rushed to my ob-gyne. You see, sometimes we need to experience a little pain before we finally see a doctor. If you are doing this, change the habit. See a doctor every time you feel that something peculiar is happening to your health.

Finally, I got a general feeling of being unwell. I just didn’t feel right. I couldn’t tell why. I’m just sick, that’s what I felt. So if you have these symptoms which occur at the second trimester of pregnancy, better see you ob-gyne right away.

Ambition

It's 11:25 am and I'm still sitting in front of this PC. It's not because I have nothing else to do but because this is the best thing to indulge into in a moment like this. You may ask why, but let me ask you something. "Can you think of a better thing to do if you feel unproductive in your life?" People say that at the age of 30 you need a sense of responsibility to go on in the adventure of this life. You need integrity at a latter age and you can only achieve it by being responsible today. But how about if you don't have any responsibility?

I'm not referring to bills and kids to feed. I pertain to the job which is elusive nowadays. You will tire yourself in printing your resume and having your diploma and OTR zeroxed but you will still be doing the same thing for a year. Why? because it's hard to find a job. There are lots of works though like washing the dishes, throwing the garbage and cleaning the house but I'm talking about jobs that pay you the wage that you deserve. Isn't it frustrating that after delivering your graduation speech as a cumlaude you will end up jobless for more than a year?

People will talk about you. They will call you indolent or even too haughty to take menial tasks. But the truth is, you are not hired. Never hired because even the HRD is intimidated by your IQ. They will say that you're overqualified. But that word is the same as, "Sorry, you're not hired". But, go on dreamer, build your dreams even though it will take years to do that. Remember that the best books and inventions were mostly made by the people who surpassed thousands of frustrations.
